Children celebrating World Book Day 2026

🎉 World Book Day 2026 at St Helen Auckland Primary School! 📚

Today our school was filled with imagination, creativity, and LOTS of brilliant books!
Children across all year groups came together to celebrate the magic of reading—sharing favourite stories, dressing up as loved characters, and taking part in fun book‑themed activities.

From exploring new authors to diving into exciting adventures, today reminded us just how powerful stories can be. World Book Day is all about encouraging every child to discover a love of reading, and we are so proud of the enthusiasm and joy shown by all our pupils.

A huge well done to everyone for your amazing costumes, wonderful reading, and fantastic participation. Keep turning those pages and letting stories inspire you—every book is a new adventure waiting to be opened! ✨

📖 Happy World Book Day 2026!

Children celebrating Chinese New Year 2026

🐉 Chinese New Year 2026 at St Helen Auckland Primary School! 🏮

Today our school came together to celebrate Chinese New Year 2026 – the Year of the Horse!
The children enjoyed a wonderful day filled with colour, creativity, and cultural learning.

Pupils took part in a range of exciting activities, including making traditional crafts, exploring Chinese stories and traditions, and discovering how people around the world celebrate this special festival.

Celebrations like this help our children explore different cultures, show respect for global traditions, and understand the amazing diversity of our world. We are so proud of how enthusiastic and engaged they were throughout the day.

🌟 Gōng Xǐ Fā Cái – wishing everyone a happy and prosperous New Year! 🌟

Celebrating Chinese New Year 2026

Sports Day We had a fantastic time celebrating Sports Day at our school! Pupils took part in a range of events, showing great enthusiasm, teamwork, and determination throughout the day. It was wonderful to see everyone encouraging one another and giving their best effort, whether running, jumping, or cheering from the sidelines.

Thank you to all the staff, families, and supporters who helped make the day such a success. Sports Day was a brilliant celebration of participation, perseverance, and school spirit, and we are very proud of all our pupils.

Sports Day

We were delighted to celebrate Children in Need as a whole school community! Pupils and staff took part in a range of fun activities, wore something spotty or yellow, and learned about the importance of helping others. The day was filled with laughter, kindness, and generosity, all in support of this wonderful cause.

Thank you to everyone—children, families, and staff—for your enthusiasm and generous donations. Together, we are helping to make a real difference to the lives of children. 💛

Children in Need 25

School had  a fantastic day on Monday celebrating Roald Dahl Day.

Our visitor was an inspiration and she has inspired some of us to want to become an author or writer when we grow up!

Handball Festival

Year 5 participated in the Handball Festival at St Johns Comprehensive. They showed excellent collaboration and perseverance skills.

Special Visitors from Lumiere and OASES

We had 2 special visitors in school, this week. Beth form Lumiere and Hannah from OASES. Beth told the whole school about Lumiere and then Hannah delivered a workshop to Year 5, focusing on solar energy. The children looked at causes and consequences of global warming, we thought about where we would place solar panels on our school building then they tested out solar electricity using the solar kits. Beth left us a pack to create some solar art that is going to be displayed in the Lumiere Festival alongside a local artists work. We are very excited and privileged to be part of Lumiere.
