At St Helen Auckland Primary School we pride ourselves on the high quality pastoral provision we offer our pupils and the support we provide for our parents, carers and families.
All staff have an in-depth knowledge of every child’s needs and work in close partnership with our Learning Mentor. These staff are highly trained to provide additional pastoral support for our pupils.
We consult with a wide range of agencies and partnerships to ensure the pastoral, medical and social needs of SEND children are met.
Our school can also provide emotional and social support for children through:
– Lego Therapy
– Draw and Talk therapy
– TALKABOUT programme
– Peer mentoring systems.
– Social skills/nurture group interventions – provided by both internal staff and external agencies
– Self-esteem interventions including counselling
– Anti-bullying policies which are taught within our PSHE curriculum
– After school provision through school clubs
– Administration of medicines
